our story

meet the founder

hi, i'm Rachel.

i'm no where near a pro athlete. but i do love to move.

and no matter our speed or strength, we all deal with the same thing: pain. i've had my fair share of accidents, overuse injuries, surgeries, and more (especially on the knees).

each time i've felt the way that pain has inhibited my movement (and cancelled two hard-trained Ironman races).

our shared pain

no matter your speed or strength, you're never alone when it comes to pain and injuries.

pain is a very integral part of being human.

after spending a lot of time in the Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands, i discovered how common it was to use painkillers.

this was always strange to me coming from China, where we treat pain differently - not as an enemy to fight or 'kill', but a messenger the body’s way of saying something’s out of balance.

the beginning of TAO

in the 2500 year old Taoist philosophy originating from China, everything comes back to flow — of energy (qi), breath, and blood.

when flow is blocked, pain appears. when it’s restored, healing begins.

too often, we’re told to hide pain with quick fixes and painkillers. but true healing doesn’t come from numbing — it comes from restoring flow and trusting your body again.

the TAO philosophy

no chemicals, nothing engineered for dependency on external sources.

movement is natural. recovery should be too.

we’re building the space between body connection and natural relief through thousand year old traditional Chinese medicine.

we proudly source all our ingredients and production in Zhengzhou, China — the birthplace of kung fu — where movement itself began with balance and flow.

welcome to TAO.
